My name is Anne Hayek & I live near Boston in the USA. My second great-grandparents, Josef Hájek & Maria Vondra, and third great grandparents, Vojtecha Vondra & Kateriny Kubiček (see https://digi.ceskearchivy.cz/5267/16) emigrated to the USA in 1872 from Hůrky. I only discovered their origin in the village of Hůrky near Lišov in České Budějovice last month and am very happy. They all lived in St Paul, Minnesota and are buried in the Calvary Cemetery there (see https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/54116234/mary-hajek). I am descended from Jan Vondra Hájek, who had a son, John, who had a son, John, my father.
I would love to read the history of Hůrky but I can read only very minimal Czech and it is impossible to copy the texts on your website to run them through a translation system. Is there a way you could send me the texts in Czech to my email? If you are interested, I could also help to prepare a good English version of the texts if you'd like to have an option for English for the site.
